Tromsø – the largest city in northern Norway. It is located on the island of Tromsøya and Kvløya above the Polar Circle. Tromsø is unique in many ways. The climatic conditions are such that with a sufficiently cool summer (just over 10°) there are no chilly frosts in the winter and the sea is not frozen. Tromsø – an international city with many students from all over the world.

The first signs of humanity in the Tromsø area date back to the Ice Age, but not exclusively to the founding of the city, which dates back to 1252, when the first church was founded. Tromsø was a large fishing village until it was granted city rights in 1794. The citys growth was aided by the opening of the School of Bishops (1834), the appearance of the Teachers School (1848), and the construction of renovation yards (1872). In the Second World War, Òórumño did not suffer, moreover, it did not suffer for some time as a temporary capital.

In the second half of the 20th century, Tromsø continued to grow: an international airport and university (8,000 students) were built. Tromsø is known for having the worlds most northern botanical garden, university, planetarium, soccer club and brewery. Although the city itself is very attractive, and many in Norway call Tromsø «s Northern Paris. But the stark northern architecture is very compatible with the citys diverse population: there are representatives of hundreds of nationalities living here. A separate community is made up of the Saami, who have several educational institutions in the city.

The main attraction and icon of Tromsø can be found in the beautiful and prestigious Archdiocesan Cathedral (1965), which is reminiscent of the Aisbury Cathedral. The pavement quarters of the city center, St. Marys Cathedral (1861), the Cathedral of St. Mary the Virgin (1861), the mile-long bridge, and the University building stand out. Interesting places are the «Polymymuseum» and the Floya Mountain. Every year in Tromsø, there is an international & ‖Marathon of Polana Night‖ and a regatta. Many visit Tromsø to enjoy the sea fishing – the waters of the Norwegian Sea are unusually rich in fish around the city.
