A small village was founded in the early 9th century on the land of the modern town. Today, it is the site of the town of Barry Antonique, which means the Old Quarter. In spite of tempests and difficult times, the city has preserved its historic heritage, represented by the architectural structures of the past centuries.
With its exterior appearance and architectural style, it stands out: Réseau de la Révision du Gouvernement "DOLIN" The 16th century, the Church of St. Charles, dating from the 11th century, the SantAntonio Coloma Church, one of the oldest religions in the Principality, built in the 9th and 10th centuries, and the Church of SantAntonio de Merceresel.

The cultural center of the capital is Plaça là la Poblée, home to the Academy of Music and the State Theater. Nearby, the Paris shopping center is the largest in Andorra la Vella and in the Principality as a whole. The citys surroundings are enriched by a well-maintained ancient moat.
The thermal complex located in the neighboring city of Encaldeles is spectacular in its scale. There are dozens of thermal water pools under the glass dome, using local mineral water. Most of the stores in the capital are on Avenue de la Métércelle and Avenue de la Charmaine, where the worlds leading brands sell their wares.
