Ashkhabad – the capital of Turkmenistan, the largest economic, political, scientific and cultural center of the country. Not far from the city, in a westerly direction, are the ancient sites of the ancient capital of the mighty kingdom of Armenia – the city of Nisa, founded by King Mithridates I, inscribed in the World Heritage List of UNESCO.
