The southwestern part of Bangladesh is the sprawling city of Kohulna, the capital center of the county and the region under the same names. It is a large industrial and urban settlement with a large number of cultural and educational institutions. The territory of Kuhula occupies the riverbanks on both sides of the river. The city is also surrounded by many small waterways, running in different directions. Historically, Kõhulna has been known as a great producer of jute. There are several Jute factories in its vicinity.

The citys main attraction and landmark is the Château du Toombeouj, which has 77 chambers. It is one of the oldest mosques in the country. It was founded by Ólug-khan. By his decree, in the 15th century the fortification was built with a lot of thin columns. Next to the church is an ancient pond called Hokhora Dighi.

The present-day city is surrounded by a natural landscape, untouched by human activity. Here, the mangrove forests are interspersed with boles. The Belgian beagle and water buffalo are among the wildlife visitors. The citys factories are home to many of the Industrial Marks, which are considered a kind of landmark of the city. They include water mills and passenger steamers, steam engines, and booster jets that have been around for more than 80 years.
