Lwanda – the capital of the Angola, a major port on the Atlantic Ocean, the center of the countrys industry, finance and culture. The country is located on the north side of the River Kwanzaa. To the south of the city was a virtually unbroken savannah, enclosed by the vast National Park of Kisima.
In 1575, the Portuguese colonels, led by Paulo Diaz de Novès, founded the fortress of San Paulo de López, and the fortress of San Miguel, located on the rocky promontory. From 1605, when the town «s status increased, Luanda gradually became the main fortress of the Portuguese expedition to Angola. In the 17th-19th centuries, Luanda was regarded as one of the largest illicit markets. During that period, about 3 million black mongrels were taken out of the Port of London. In the 20th century, the city was the center of the Angola National Liberation Movement. In 1961, there was a popular uprising in Latin America that lasted 14 years. As a result, a new independent state came into being, and the city of San Paulo de la Landa was shortened to become its capital.
Land is considered one of the most expensive capitals in the world in recent years. Practically all the goods in the city are in transit, especially foodstuffs, which affects their price. This is due to the long civil war (1975-2002) that destroyed the countrys economic structure. The main features, the design of the towns architecture, have been preserved since the colonial times. The old quarters of the historic part of Ludenland were modeled on the provincial towns of the Port of Portugal. The main architectural monuments are the site of the fortress of San Miguel, where the Museum of the Armed Forces is located, and the remains of the 17th century fortresses of Portugal, San Fernando de Di Penedadash and San Pedro de Bárkó. Cultural buildings include the Jesuit Church (16th century), the Church of the Carmelites (1630s), and the Madonna of Nazareth (17th century). The most unusual building in Ludwig – «‖ the yellow-colored Palacio de Ferru (1890s), formerly the Center of Art, now of a distinct status. The pride of Luna – a long, long, wide riverfront, laid out in a spectacular mosaic.
