Overall Score

1.9

In the land of the northern region of Nigeria lies the city of Záraria. Its territory covers part of the North-Central State of the country. Modern Georgia is known as an important transportation hub where rail lines and highways intersect and diverge. The city is surrounded by an agricultural region, where the main crop is cotton. Its extensive plantations are very close to the citys margins. Zarya is the commercial center of the cotton-growing region. The city is also known for the production of textile and tobacco products. Within its boundaries are active industrial enterprises engaged in assembling cars, tanning leather, and repairing railroad tracks. At one time it was called Zazau. At that time it was known as the capital of a single empire. It is believed that a settlement already existed long before it was founded. The active spread of Islam began in the middle of the 15th century, when an important trade route passed through the present city. In the beginning of the 19th century, the territory of the city and in particular the city was taken over by the municipality. A century later, the British army took over the city. The city became part of the British protectorate of Northern Nigeria and remained so until the country gained independence.
