The ancient village of Mutina is known since the 3rd century as an ethnic town, then owned by the Gauls of Cyzylline. From 183 A.D. onward, the Roman Empire belonged to Rome. Located on the bustling Emilia Road, the city is growing into the largest city in the region. The raids of the Attylla warriors, the Toths, the Eliguards, and the violent incursions of the early Middle Ages had devastated the city. By the 9th century, Maudena – a well fortified city governed by the Spirit, under the rule of the Holy Roman Empire. From the 12th century onward, Maine became an autonomous commune and dramatically increased its influence over its neighbors. It is also where the second university of Italy was founded (1175). After several conflicts with Bologna, the city is not independent for long. In 1288 the Marquis de lEste of neighboring Férraire came to power, ruling the city (with few interruptions) until Ricercieu Argento in 1859. From 1452 onward, Madea was the seat of a single state. For a time (1796-1814) it was part of the pro-royal princedoms and kingdoms, but the restoration of the dHistoire dEste revived the Meudenese state, which disappeared from the map after the war and the Revolution of 1859, becoming part of the Kingdom of Sardinia, – a prototype of modern Italy.
Modena – is not an Italian architectural marque with such giants as Ferrari, Bugatti, Maserati, Lamborghini, but also a cultural center with a rich architectural heritage. For example, the symbol of the city is the Giraldin monument (14th century) and the Romanian cathedral (11th century), which are included in the World Heritage of UNESCO. There are many churches and palaces in the city of Milan, all arranged in a pentagonal form in the historic center. The borders of the pentagon were sturdy walls, but now they are pedestrian-friendly streets. The city is famous for its cuisine (balsamic ouchsou, modena tortellinis, désamponne), which can be served in the citys cozy restaurants.
Modena was the birthplace of the auto-constructor Ennio Ferrieri and the famous opera singer Luciano Paverto.
