Caye Caulker is a small limestone coral island off the coast of Belize in the Caribbean Sea, about 5 miles (8.0 km) away (north to south) and less than 1 mile (1.6 km) (from east to west). This island town is called Caye Caulker Village. Caye Caulker is located about 20 miles (32 kilometers) north-east of Belize City and can be reached by high-speed water taxi or plane. In recent years, the island has become a popular destination for backpackers and other tourists. There are more than 50 hotels and several restaurants and shops.
