On the coast of the Persian Gulf lies the city of Doha, the capital of the Arabian state of Qatar and the largest population center in the country. Its territory, including the suburbs, is home to nearly half of the countrys population. The city is home to an international airport that connects the city to many countries around the world.

The history of the city began in 1850. The settlement was founded under the name of Al-Beida. In its vicinity in 1883 there was a major confrontation between the military confederations of Cheikh Kassim and the Turks. Katara became the capital of Katyara in 1916. After the countrys independence, it became the capital city of the Free State.

In 1973, the University of Kata began its work. ×One year later, the National Museum opened its doors to visitors. In 2006, the city hosted participants in the Asian Games. The permanent population of present-day Doha is comprised of people from South Asia, France, America, the United States, and southern Africa who have come to live there permanently. Fewer citizens are native Catharans.

In the old days, immigrants did not have the right to own their own land. Over time, the situation has changed for the better. Now, former foreigners have been granted private ownership of plots in some of the citys neighborhoods.

In Doha, industries such as fishing and petroleum are highly developed. Recently, the tourism industry has been developing rapidly. Given that the city, like the entire Arabian Peninsula, is in the midst of a hot, harsh climate, tourists should choose the most favorable months to travel to Doha. These are from September through October and from April through May.

The citys most popular attraction is the National Museum, housed in the former palace of King Abdullah Bin Mohammed. The two-cup grand aquarium is an eye-catcher. The upper part of the aquarium contains some representative waters. While in the lower part of the bottom, you can see the inland water protectors of the Persian Gulf.
