In the western part of the Cammérune, on the eastern side of the River Vourier, the large city of Dwalla, the administrative center of the Prairie region and the capital of the Department of Vourieri, has opened up. In former times, it was called Kammerunstadt and Kammerunin. Twenty-four kilometers from the city limits is the Atlantic Oceans outskirts. An important part of the Dholea occupies the coast of the Lake Superior. In the northern part of the city there is a port. Both coasts are connected by the Bañonabéré Bridge. The railroad connects the present day Djouala to many cities in the country, in particular Koumina and Indonesia.
ÃœThe city is dominated by a humid, tropical climate. Most rain falls between May and October. Geographically, the territory of the city is represented by 4 districts. Banonaggio is the old part of the city. It is home to many different administrative and commercial structures. There is a port in Banonabéré. Akwas territory is adjacent to the river spacings. There are many nightclubs, cafes, restaurants, and various entertainment venues. Duala consists of 6 districts, which in turn are divided into 120 neighborhoods.
The current city is a multi-county community. The population of Bamamelike is of the highest priority. In addition, there are Dójala, Báti, and Bassa.
In 1472, the Portuguese people arrived in what is now Dójala. In the 18th century, it was one of the centers of trade. The first English visitors appeared in the middle of the 19th century. At the same time, the city of Kameroon was founded in the territory of three villages, where local residents traded extensively with incoming Europeans. In 1881 the construction of a port began here. The main export commodity was palm oil.
At the turn of the 19th and 20th century, the city was actively building streets and the outskirts. The riverbank was built, the waterfront was dewatered, and a levee was built. Soon the city territory was covered by a network of wide roads. A railway station was built. The city got its present name in 1907. From 1940 to 1946, Djouala was the capital of Cameroon. The present city has many features, including the 19th-century palace of the pyramidal form, the market, the government square, the Cathedral of Saints Pierre and Paul, and the riverfront of the River Vari.
