In the valley, among the hummocky hills, lies the city of Gaborone, the capital of the South African state of Botswana. A few kilometers away is a border crossing with the U.S. Department of Defense. The history of the young city began in 1964. In a relatively short time, the small town has become a thriving city with hospitals and schools, stores and banks, government offices and housing complexes. The capacity of the installed power plant allows it to fully meet the needs of the population in electricity. Gaborone is enhanced by parks and a church building.

The citys territory extends along the railroad tracks. The boulevard that crosses the city connects the airport to the business districts. Todays Gaborone has a developed infrastructure. The village, formerly a city, was part of Gaborone and is an integral part of it. Until now, the outline of the city still bears the remains of a fortified defensive fort dating from the British colonial period to 1890.

The central part of the young and thriving city is represented by: The University of Botswana, the Art Gallery with its exhibition halls, the National Museum with its unique exhibits, and governmental and administrative offices, National Assembly, sports clubs, especially for recreational games of tennis, cricket, golf, and the National Stadium.

The South African Development Centers headquarters has been in Gaborone since 1980. As in former times, the tribe is surrounded by many small villages. Most of their residents work in the city. For city visitors and tourists, there are comfortable hotels equipped with all the necessities for a great vacation. The authentic restaurants, with their excellent cuisine, can satisfy the most demanding visitors.

Baronet is not only a diamond mining center, but also a manufacturer of handmade items, including wood furniture and masterpieces. The citys stores offer a variety of different jeweled jewels with diamonds for every taste. In the area of the Gaborone, there are natural areas, including the lion park of Sanctus Claure.
