Loży is a large Polish city, the center of the electrical and textile industry. It is located 120 kilometers from Warsaw.
The first mention of Lodzia is from 1332 in the documents on the assignment of the village of Lodzia to the Bishops of Wołosławiec. In 1423 Lodz was granted city status.
In late 1820, by decree of the Polish Minister, Lodz was declared a factory town. After that, it was followed by a soap and cloth plantation.
The railroad began operating in Lodz in 1866, and in 1989 the countrys first electric tram was launched.
The city is notable for being the first in Poland to operate one: The Polish Theatre Society (1903), the Anna Maria Childrens Hospital (founded in 1905, changed to the Janusz Kororczuk Hospital in 1951), and the countrys largest bank (1908).
The city has been the center of the Lenin Army since 1919.
The city is interesting because of the architecture of its 160 mansions, villas and palaces of the industrial manufacturers of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, which are still preserved to this day in excellent condition. ×Some of them are located on the main street of the city – Piotrowskińskiego, the longest pedestrian zone in Poland. Its where the cultural and entertainment complexes are concentrated, and where all the citys big events take place, including fairs and sporting events. You can also see the largest in the country. The Cathedral of St. Matthew at St. Peters regularly hosts festivals of organised folk music.
He is among the world-famous figures who lived in Lodi – Joseph Pilsudsky, the Polish Revolutionary, the head of the reborn Polish state.
Famous filmmakers: Kszeutof Kannussi, Andrzej Wajda, Jerzy Skolimowski, Roma Poljanski, Kszeutof Kåñëowski and many more — graduates of the High School of Cinema, Television and Theater, which is world renowned. For many years now, Leuze has been regarded as the capital of Polands film industry. It is home to film studios, sound recording studios, and every year it hosts CAMER-IMAGE; — the International Festival of Operative Art. The Museum of Cinematography and the Alley of Stars, similar to Hollywood, can be seen at the Museum of Cinematography.
