Pisa is located on the banks of the River Arrhono, in the lowlands between the Pisano Mountains and the Ligurian Sea. The citys name comes from the Latin word risae, which translates to river mouth. This is where Galileo Galilei was born and studied, and where Leo da Vinci grew up on the banks of the Arno River. It is the birthplace of the universitys historic university.

While Pisa is associated with a tumbling tower, there are other attractions you can look forward to in the northern part of Italy. Pisa is a famous resort. The main attractions of Pisa are concentrated in one place, Prato dei Miracoli. There is the cathedral of Pisa and the famous tumbling tower, built in the 12th and 13th centuries with a height of 56 meters or 8 stories, the cathedral of the Dumeau. Many grand buildings remain of the former grandeur of Pisa. Of course, you can see the churches of Sancte María delle Spiceno, Sancte Francesco dellAssisi, Sancte Frediano, San Pediano, and San Paulo a Rapa da Ripa dA’Aromo. If you want to take pictures in front of the palaces, you have to visit Palazzo Rialle, Palazzo Lanfrani and Palazzo Agoghini. Furthermore, Pisa is one of the oldest universities in Europe, a complex of buildings that may also be of interest to tourists. It can be recognized by its many distinctive features: the turrets, the carvings on the windows, and the sigils make it look more like a toy.
