San Pedro is a city that lies to the southwest of Côte dIvoire. The above city is the administrative center of the region, called Bà Sassandra. It is also considered the administrative center of the department.
The main occupation of the majority of the population is agriculture, food processing and fishing. San Pedro is famous for the production of crops such as gewoya, masculine palm, cacao and others. Tourism is also of great economic importance for the city. San Pedro has the second largest port in the country. It is also the main port of the countrys most important cacao-babas, and there is a single airport not far from the city.
A short distance from the city is the National Park Taya, known as one of the last sanctuaries of the pearlpopotamus, listed in the World Heritage List of UNESCO. The city is also known for its beaches and nightlife. The average annual temperature in the city is about twenty degrees Celsius.
