The citys airport is about 20 kilometers from Ossiecka. The city has a river port and a train station. The railroad line became operational in 1926.

Nowadays, Lake Luciek is a very large industrial center, with an extensive range of machinery, light, chemical and food processing industries. The most famous are the Coffee Factory and the Beer Plant, famous for its drink Î÷èêêka&quot.

The land on which the present city is located was inhabited as far back as 2000 years ago. Nearby the city of Rome, a tribe of Illyans lived across the river Drava in ancient times. In Roman times there was a village called Murza. The ruler, Adrian, in 330, gave it the status of a colony and the corresponding privileges.

The power of the city has changed frequently over the course of the centuries. For example, in the 9th century it belonged to the princely dynasty. In consequence, it came under the rule of the King of England. It was mentioned for the first time in the documentary sources of 1196 as its present name. The ancient part of modern Lake Luca was built in the village of Muirsa. The facades are decorated in a baroque style. The most famous historic monument is the mighty fortress built in the 18th century. It is the site of St. Michaels Church.
