Kanangara, the metropolitan center of the Lulu Province, is located in the Democratic Republic of Korea. Nearby is the railway line between Lubomuchee and Illya. The territory of the city extended from the Lululea River, which is one of the arms of the river Kasai. The modern Kañang is one of the most important commercial and political centers of the country. There is a museum with fascinating and enlightening exhibits, including many items by local artisans. The current airport has regular flights by air.

In the old days the city was called Lluauburg. It was named in honor of one of Lulus famous leaders, a strong and pious leader. In the mid-1970s, nearly half a million people lived in Kainan City. But even though a large number of city dwellers live in present-day Kanang, the city is still one of the countrys most prosperous communities. The main buildings here are the traditional wooden buildings of the countryside. Todays tall structures are not as common on city streets. In 1884, the famous German traveler Hermann von Wissman established a small camp on the Lululewa River, not far from the present city. He called it Malayalaiji. This name was due to the fact that almost all of the wearers and assistants of the researcher were from Malayange in Angola.

A short time later, a railroad station was erected not far from the station. The facility was built on the right bank of the river. There, too, the camp of the traveler was soon moved. Until now, the original site of the camp has been called Malayange-Macucula, which translates as Old Malayange.

The decision to move the capital center from Kinshasa to Kanyang was made during the negotiations over the granting of independence to Belgium. But in fact the capital remained Kinshasa. It wasnt until 1962 that the city became the capital of the Province of Western Cassia. Since 2006, Kananga has been the center of Lulu Province.
