The fourth largest city of Marrakoko, Marrakesh is one of the imperial cities of the country, to which it gave its name. The name of the city, described by the Spanish, has been transferred to the whole country. Marrakesh is located in the western part of the High Athletic River. The weather is hot, dry, with little rain.

Marrakesh was founded as the capital of the Al-Marrakesh in 1062 by the king Uthum El Tashofin. After the Almoravids, the Throne of the Almohads was located there, and in the late 12th century, under Jakub el-Mansur, the Golden Age of Marrakesh took place. In 1269, the Marinids stripped the city of its capital status, moving the center of the country to Fès. Marrakesh was the capital of the country for the last time in the 16th century, under the Saadites. In 1912-56, it was under the direction of the French administration.

Marrakesh – a beautiful city that retains the grandeur of the old centuries. Medina, the historic center of Marrakesh, is an example of Arabian architecture, and for this reason it has been added to the World Heritage List of UNESCO. Marrakesh is named the Red City for the typical color of the old city. Its heart – the enormous and at first sight picturesque Jem El Fenon Square. Every day there is a marketplace, and there are musicians, entertainers, and musicians. Jemma el Fonana – «vetrina» of the traditional Mararracco.

The symbol of Marracchese is considered to be the Kútiba (1147), with a 70-meter minaret. Also distinguishable are the Mosques of Moissasín (1573), Baába Ducakkala, and Kasába (12th century). The palaces of Dâr-el-Mahçen, El-Bahady, Mahâdia, the Zayouia of Sidi el-Abaisse and Sidi el-Sliman el-Jouzi and the citys Baraghânou Gate are spectacular. One of the oldest structures of Marrakesh is considered to be the Koubaba al-Baadayin, and the Benjamin Sesfa Médecins – one of the main coronial schools of Northern Africa.

Marrakesh is known for its beautiful park-like grounds, where the gardens of Menara, Aguedale and Majeurelle take center stage. The Géliz – a modern quarter, designed during the French administration, is distinguished by its spacious streets, gardens, restaurants and hotels.

Marrakeshs locales have attracted filmmakers who have often used empty landscapes as movie sets (The Guardian, Star Wars, and others). Some of the decorations are not developed and attract tourists.
