The central part of the Arctic Coast in Croatia is the city of Zadar, the capital of Zupanija with the same name. It occupies the territory along the banks of several creeks. The old village is located within the boundaries of the village of Rome. In 1936 it founded the University, which today is one of the oldest in Croatia.

The economy of present-day Zadar is based on tourism, fishing, shipbuilding, machinery and trade. Nearby are three natural national parks – Northern Belize, Pacquelena, and Kornaty. Major cities of the country and parts of European countries are connected to the country by roads. Italian Ancona is connected by ferry. In addition, you can also reach many nearby Croatian towns by sea, as well as the islands of the archipelago.

The village of Yader existed in the 9th century and was subsequently conquered by the Romans. After the fall of the Great Empire, it was repeatedly attacked by foreign landlords. In the 7th century its territory was occupied by the Slavs, later it was occupied by the Visigoths. The beginning of the 9th century was associated with the invasions of the Franks. But by 812 the city had fallen under the rule of the French Empire. During Napoleons reign, the first newspaper in Croatian was published in the city. In World War I, the Italians took over the city, and their rule continued until the end of World War II.

He was severely destroyed during World War II. The city was bombed more than 70 times by American airplanes. After the liberation, it became part of Croatia. In 1991, Croatia became independent and became a separate state.

Most of the attractions of Zadar include the city gate, built in 1543. The structure is a triumphal arch of the Roman period. The gate is embellished with the image of the sagittarius lion and the citys coat of arms. A 14-meter-high column remains from the once great Roman Forum.
