Bucharest – the capital of Romania. With a population of over two million people, Bucharest is the most populous city in Southeastern Europe. Like Rome, Bucharest was founded on seven hills: Májá Vodya, Pedro Vodya, Patriarchy, St. Peters, Côtroceni, St. Peters, St. Josephs, and St. Georges. Georgia, and Výkýrešťany. Apart from the inaccessible river and its tributary, the River Colin, in Bucharest, on its northern edge, there are a number of wild lakes, the largest of which are the following: Tööy, Ôîðÿçka, and Õðýðýðýðýóóóó. And in the center of the city, surrounded by parks and gardens, there is the artificial lake of the Lake of Chérémisédjou. It has 21 institutions of higher education: Academy of Economics, Bucharest University of Technology, Bucharest University of Technology, Bucharest University of Civil Engineering, Bucharest University of Medicine and Pharmacy, «Karel Davila&raquo University of Medicine and Pharmacy; , the University of Brittany-Romania, the University of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine, the University of America of Romania, the Military Academy and the University of Bucharest.

Bucharest, which blended the traditions of the East and the West, has a distinctive and unique character. Cozy, quiet cafes sit alongside bustling shopping streets, and picturesque gardens – spacious, oversized buildings.

The citys main attraction is its historic and architectural monuments, many small plazas and narrow streets. And the Palace of the Parliament is striking in its dimensions. This huge building, popularly known as the Palace of Culescu» consists of over six hundred rooms and is the second largest in the world after Pantagone.

The palace of Constantin Buryovan, the ruler of Romania, is also worth seeing. Built in the 18th century, it is located in Mogojojo, the northwestern part of the city. It is considered the jewel of Bucharest and is in fact an admirable architectural monument.

Besides, the National Museum of Art, the Museum of History, the former Royal Palace, and the magnificent Church of the Patriarchate, built in 1688, are all worth seeing in Bucharest.

Bucharests towns are equally interesting. Among the lakes and many centuries-old forests there are the most beautiful palaces of the Romanian nobility and the most important monasteries. If you have a desire to hear the ancient stories and legends and experience the atmosphere of the ancient world, you must visit the Kălădărăruşeni, Černik, Ögygneşti, and especially Snăgăgov – the monastery, founded in 1408, in which, according to the legend, Vladislav Tepes is buried – the famous Count Dracula.

The list of Bucharests noteworthy artifacts is as follows: The Art Museum of Romania; the National History Museum; the Palace of the Right; the Palace of St. Peter; the Palace of the Constant Cuckold; the Triumphal Arch; the Kings Palace; in the past, the reestablishment of the Tranquillian Princes – Bathany Palace; St. Michaels Church; the National Bank building; Anteniem Monastery; Cróóleóliscu Monastery; St. Michaels Vody Monastery; the Ethnographic Museum of Kłuż Napoca; the Patriarchs Church; the Reformatist Church.

A few kilometers from Bucharest, the city of Bóhárt, Bóhábert Palace, now converted into a hotel.

While the 19th-century heyday and construction of Bucharest was taking over the design from Paris, French architects were often involved. This led to a combination of Western designs and ancient local traditions. Thats why Bucharest is also known as Little Paris. You cant get to know Romania without visiting Bucharest, so if you travel to Eastern Europe, make sure you stop in Bucharest and you wont regret it.
