Keysung – a city of direct responsibility in the CNDPR, but not part of the Huiui Puktto Province. One of the main industrial and cultural centers of North Korea. It is the most southerly city of Korea.

Keysung – an ancient city. It was inhabited in the non-political times, and a permanent settlement was established in the first centuries of modern times. In the 10th century, Koksingon became the capital of the first Common Kingdom of Creole and remained so in the 14th century. After the partition of Korea in 1945, Kōsōn, south of the 38th Parallel, was in South Korea. In 1951 it was occupied by the KNDR troops. It was also here, in 1953, that the Treaty of the End of the Korean War was signed, which sealed the current border between the Korean states.

Kyōsōn, as the former ancient ancient ancient capital, has many ancient architectural treasures. Many of them remain at the Academy of Sciences (now the citys main museum). In Kõsong, one can see the old rulers of the Kõsong period, cemeteries, mounds, temples, and traditional Korean houses. On the mountain of Chokemon, there is a waterfall called Pacquinon and a giant statue of Judah carved out of stone. Kõsung – one of only two cities in the KKDR that can be visited by South Korean tourists.
