The city of Cerberto, capital of a single state, lies at the head of the basin of the Rio Grande de Santiago River. ×It is crossed by transport lines that connect the capital with the settlements in the northern regions of Mexico. The old part of the city, where the city was built during the colonial period, occupies an equal amount of land. It is surpassed by the mountain of Cerro de las Campanas.

The Spanish colonists in the 16th century laid out the city of Querértero after they established it on this land. It developed as the economic and political center of the region. Nearby the traditional houses of the Indians were built in baroque style. The new buildings were built in geometrically planned areas, while the Indian buildings were located along the streets. Nowadays, the old center of Kérétáró occupies nearly 100 hectares. The main architectural features are located on a piece of land not far from the intersection of two major highways. Among them are the Church of the Congregation, built in 1680, the Theatre of the Republic, dating from the 19th century, and the building of the former Monastery of San Francisco, built in the late 18th century.

The Grand Thriumphalian Arc is located not far from the Museum of Art. It is decorated by a picture window. The ancient part of the city is famous for its abundance of greenery. Its streets, paved with brick, are lined with decorative street lights at night. During the daytime, they beautify the pedestrian alleys. To the east of the ancient center is the ancient church of SantAgostino Crus. To the west of the main square is the abbey. At one time it supplied water to the towns waterworks in various parts of the community. A large part of the downtown area of Ceretaro is occupied by a park with ponds, a natural skating rink and alleyways.
