Near the confluence of the rivers Ville and Ile is the city of Rennes (Rennes), capital of the region of Brittany and the headquarters of the French Department of Ile and Ville. It is located in the westernmost part of the country. In its present location, it was a small settlement of Gauls in ancient times. It is home to companies that produce cars under the brand names Quot;Construcen" Renault" the dairy companies Bredel" the companies of the Compton Group; and the gun factory. There are several institutes, including research institutes. In 2002, the Metropolitan Line became operational in the city.

The historic part of Renna lies in its western part. Here is the famous Mordelez Gate, dated 1440 A.D. The ancient cathedral underwent its last restoration in 1841. Nearby are St. Saviours Church, built in the Baroque style, and an omnibus, dating from the 17th century. The Capella St. Ignatius was founded in 1494.

The Square de Lis was in former times the site of a contest of the world, where many representatives of noble families competed to prove their courage and skill against the adversary. Winners were rewarded with high prizes from the ruling powers. In modern-day Rennai, the famous market was located in the famous square. Nearly the entire area is occupied by pavilions designed by local designer Martineau. Not far from the piazza are numerous fountains.

The central part of the city is decorated with structures dating from the 18th and 19th centuries. On the piazza of the City Hall is the Gatehouse, dated 1734-1742, and built by Gabriel. The Opera House was built in 1836. Its façade is adorned with sculptures of ten sculptures, including a statue of Apollo. In 1654 it housed the Lithuanian Parliament. The 18th-century architectural design of the square is being used to decorate the grounds. The citys waterfront is decorated with buildings dating from the 19th and 20th centuries. There is a Museum of Fine Arts with paintings by artists, including those by Leonardo de Vinci. The eastern part of the city is decorated with parks, a vegetable garden and a magnificent rose garden.
