Phuket – a small island in Thailand, located on a single island. The administrative center is also called Pohuket. The island of Philippine origin is located on the Andaman Sea, not far from the motherland of Thailand. ×Two bridges cross the narrow Pohukhra Strait that separates Pohukhta from the mainland.

Phukhta is the largest island in Thailand. It is a mountainous stretch of land that extends 51 kilometers from north to south and is about 20 kilometers wide. Peak Two Twenty-Two Throne Peak (Maai Táo Siên Song) is the highest peak on the island – 529 meters. Much of the interior of Pohuket is covered by rugged forests, and the population is concentrated in the outlying areas. Year-round warm weather, plenty of beaches, exotic nature, and an array of architectural features make Phuket a highly popular international tourist destination. The holiday season lasts from December to March, during the dry season, when there is a major influx of tourists. In 2004, the entire western coast of Thailand and Phuket were hit in large part by a major hurricane, but within a few months the islands infrastructure was back to normal. A system of 22 buoys, monitored by observers, now monitors and, if necessary, monitors the approach of the junkies.

Phukets most recommendable resort areas are on the westernmost coastline. The center of this beach area is the resort of Patang, with its wide sandy beach, noisy nightlife, and cheap surfing. Other popular beaches – Kata, Kaporin, Kamala, Surin. ×Farther away from Patong, the vacation is more relaxing and more spacious. The beaches on the eastern coast are less maintained. Phuket is home to protected wilderness areas, including some parts of the coastline and mountainous wilderness areas.

Phuket City, in the southeast corner of the country, has some of the worlds main archaeological attractions. There are an abundance of Chinese churches, museums, administrative buildings in the colonial Portuguese style (though the island has never been a colony), varied parks, and monuments.
