Malayang, located in the eastern part of the island of Java, belongs to Eastern Java, a province of Indonesia. This city is the second most populous city after Sourabeaie. The city was originally the capital of the state of Singapore, and then it became part of the state of Mataraam. Malayang was quite a popular destination for the Jews who were in Indonesia during the period of the Dutch colonization. To this day, the city still bears the name Paris of Eastern Java. Malayang is famous for its climate, which is quite cool. The city was named for the ancient ancient city of Malayang Kuchushevar.

The main attraction of Malayang and the easternmost part of the island is the Bromromo Basin (about 2,500 meters above the sea level). Other features of this city include the Brawley Museum, the Chinese temple-pagoda of Eung Aung Ki-ying, and the Kapal Selam Memorial Complex. Malayang is also known as "Education City. Students from all the Indonesian cities come here.
