Kaliningrad

Kaliningrad is the administrative center of a single region. Located at the point where the Prussia River falls into the Gulf, it is the westernmost regional center in Russia. However, its German history ended on April 9, 1945, when the Soviet storming of the city by the Soviet troops, commanded by General Vassilievsky, ended for four days, when at the Tower of &La; Denona; was raised the red banner. The city was included in the Soviet Union by the decision of the Soviet Union Conference. The change of Königsburg to Kaliningrad was made on 4 July 1946, when after the death of M. I. Kalininin the city was given his name, although Kalininin himself had nothing to do with the city.

The most developed industries of Kaliningrad are machinery, metalworking, and machinery and polymers. The city has the international airport Kharbara, sea and river ports.

In view of the fact that no attention was paid to the preservation of German cultural heritage, the old part of the city, which had suffered considerably in the many bombings, was practically not preserved. One of the most remarkable features of Kalingrad is the Cathedral, which had been completely restored by the end of the twentieth century. In addition to the Cathedral, there are a number of other church buildings in the city, one of which, the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist, and now the St. Nicholas Cathedral, founded in the 13th century, is considered to be the oldest church in Kaliningrad. But its not just the cathedrals that are a tourist attraction. There are six museums in the city (Museum of the World, World Ocean, Museum of Art and History, Museum of Fortification, the Picture Gallery, and the Frederick Gate). The most unique for Russia is the Museum of the Ocean, with its interesting expositions and four vessels (including a pod), which were created in the late 20th and early 21st centuries.
