Yekaterinburg is one of the largest cities in Russia, the center of the Sverdlovsk region.

In the distant spring of 1723, Peter the Great began construction of an iron works, the largest in Russia. November 7, 1723, was the birthday of the city. On that day, the factorys workshops produced the first battle pistols. The construction of the plant was initiated by V.N. Tatyatyev, but later on the opposition of N.D. Demidyev led to the abolition of the construction. In addition, Tatyev was supported by de Gäninnin, who called the plant a crusader of Yekaterinburg. The name was given to the city in honor of the wife of Peter the Great, Ekaterina I. The historical geography of Yekaterinburg records that Yekaterinburg became a county town of the region in 1781 by decree of Catherine the Great. On November 14, 1924, Yekaterinburg was renamed Sverdlovsk by decision of the city council, but on May 4, 1991, the city was restored to its historical name. The city holds its place as one of the best cities in Russia, and according to some indicators even in the top three of the most developed. This is reflected in the architecture of the city and in the monuments of history, of which there are more than 600 in Yekaterinburg, 43 of which are objects of federal significance. One of the largest collections of architectural monuments has been preserved in Yekaterinburg to this day. A great number of historically important places can be visited in this city, such as, for example, the planking; This is how Eckaterinburgers affectionately call the Plot of the City Pond on the Iset River, and the Iset River is also joined by the Historic Quarry, In the past, it was home to an iron factory, an iron yard, and now houses museums of industry, archaeology, and nature of the Urals. This park also features a memorial to the founders of Eekaterinburg, Tatyenev and De Gehannin.

A great view of the city, especially at its center, is from the hill on which the Church of Eugene is located. It is where the last emperor Nicholas II and his family were assassinated that the Church of All Saints was built in 2003. This city has always had an important place in the life of the country, producing a great number of political and public figures, brilliant scientists, sportsmen and artists.
