Krasnoyarsk is a major Russian city, the center of the Krasnoyarsk Territory.

Krasnoyarsk was founded by a Cossack detachment in 1628. The warlord Andrei Dubeyen laid a wooden fort to protect the borders against the nomadic peoples on the confluence of the Katy and Yenisei rivers. Orrog was named by the name of the place of construction, which in Türkic language means "Kyryl Dzhar" and in translation into Old Russian it means &la;Krasnyi Yar». The village of Kransnoyarsk got its present-day status in 1690 together with the status of the city.

For a long time the main inhabitants of the city were servicemen and their families. But from 1735, when the Siberian railway was built, the city began to grow. Further growth was facilitated by the discovery of a gold mine and the discovery of the railroad in 1895.

Krasnoyarsk was one of the cities to which political exiles were sent. In 1825 they sent eight decaders there, and from 1860 to 1864 the founder of the Revolutionary Circle in St. Petersburg, Boutashevich-Petrashchevsky, lived and worked there. In 1913, François Naunessen visited the city, and in his book In the Land of the Future he wrote about Krasnoyarsk as a beautiful city.

After the revolution in 1917, many factories were built in the city, including the Shipyard, the Tube Plant, the Railway Machine, the Pulp and Paper Mill, the River Port, and the Television Plant. The hydroelectric power plant built in Kransnoyarsk was the fifth highest in the world and the second highest in Russia, with the Sayano-Shushenskaya nuclear power plant taking first place.

The main attraction of the city of Krayanskiye Stols are the bizarre cliffs on the right bank of the Yenisei River. In ancient times, these skeletons were worshipped as gods who descended into the earth. The signatures of «beasts» which are reminiscent of human and animal characters, are called the corresponding names: Abominus, Turtle, Behemoth, etc.

At the top of the Karaulnaya Mountains is the Church of the Prairies of Prague. According to legend, in 1805 Novikov built a wooden chapel when he miraculously fell through the river barriers. The present chapel was revived in 1855. It is shaped as a rectangular, three windows with wrought iron latticework, and has one window window aperture. The top of the Karaulnaya Mountain offers a view of the central part of the city, and its observation deck is considered to be the best viewpoint in the city.

The Museum of Natural History is one of the oldest museums, with an architecture reminiscent of that of the ancient ancient church. The basis of the excision is palaeontological, natural history, archaeological, ethnological, and ethnological collections of world significance.

The highest peak in Krasnoyarsk, the Black Sopka – a volcano, it is dead, but geologists consider it to be active. One legend says there is gold in the area of the top, another legend says there is a magic Shamanian tree that grows on the top.
