Kazan – the capital of Tatarstan, an ancient city that has crossed the border for thousands of years, now an important scientific and educational center of Russia. The citys multicentennial history, geographical location and huge and multicultural population provide tourists with a full range of vacation opportunities, regardless of personal preferences.

A city of this size, it has complete transport accessibility. An air port, two railroads and a dozen railroad terminals, a huge river port on the Volga. ×It is one of the few cities in Russia where the leadership has really taken care of tourists. The city has more than enough hotels, excursion centers and other tourist facilities.

The iconic symbol of Kazan is the Falls Tower of the Süübücke. Regardless of the purpose for which you visit Kazan, you should take a look at it. First of all, shes beautiful. Secondly, there are not many fallen pigeons around the world, you can count them by the fingers. And thirdly, a minaret with a Moslem half-moon, surrounded by right-wing kings, is an unreal sight in itself.

Its hard enough to list all the things a tourist can find in Kazan. Architectural beauties? Please. Religious shrines of two religions? And there are. Museums? You cant go around in a month.

Its the same with the rest of the places to go, its hard to recommend a restaurant or club in a city whose population is notably over a million people, so well stick with the citys «Tourist Geschines».

The Falls Tower, weve already remembered, but the Kazan Stone Cemetery itself is an architectural masterpiece, One can admire it for more than a day, especially since there are enough historic buildings, religious buildings and museums to cover the size of a medium-sized city. Right next door to it, theres the beautiful St. Johns Basilica and the Kull Cherry Cathedral, which was the largest church in Europe only a few years ago.

In addition to the citys museums and cultural sites, there are many daily excursions by bus from Kazan, to the ancient city of Sviyazhsk, to Yelabuga, to the Monastery of Refuge. In Kazan, theyve even built ethnic villages where tourists can always stop by and buy really unique souvenirs instead of the traditional magnetisers.

Before you go to the city, its a good idea to check to see if theres an event youll be attending. There are all kinds of festivals in the city all the time. Musical, theatrical, sports, ethnic… Its probably right to tell you exactly whats going to happen when youre in town.

In short, if youre not interested in a city with a thousand years of history at the crossroads of different religions, youre not interested, A million and a half million people at the crossroads of religions and cultures, with a million and a half million people, what could possibly build you up?

Kazan – a city with a rich history, many attractions, and its own special character that you can only understand if you see it.
