Whistler (correct pronunciation: Whistler) is a Canadian resort town north of the Coast Range along the Pacific coast in the province of British Columbia, Canada, about 125 km north of Vancouver. It is part of the province as the resort municipality of Whistler with a permanent population of approximately 9,965 plus a large non-permanent population in the form of workers, usually young people from outside British Columbia, particularly from Australia and Europe.

Whistler is visited by 2 million people each year, mostly skiers and mountain bikers vacationing in Whistler-Blackcomb. Whistler has earned many awards for street design and was written about in many major North American skiing magazines of the mid-1990s. During the 2010 Winter Olympics, Whistler is primarily the venue for skiing, Nordic disciplines, luge, skeleton and bobsledding (they are held at the Luge Center), while ski freestyle and all snowboarding events are held at Cypress Ski Resort near Vancouver.
