Tulare County is a county in south-central California, United States. The population of the county according to the 2010 census is 442,179 people. The administrative center is the city of Visalia.
The total area of the county is 12,530 km², of which 12,490 km² is land and 40 km² (0.3%) is water. It is bordered by Fresno County (north), Inyo County (east), Kern County (south), and Kings County (west).
The county is entirely within Sequoia National Park and partially within Kings Canyon National Park. On the border with Inyo County is Mount Whitney, the highest point of the Sierra Nevada range.
