Philadelphia – the first capital of the United States, where the Declaration of Independence was adopted in 1776. Philadelphia is also known as the cradle of American liberty, because it was the site of all the major events that would lead to the future development of American democracy. Philadelphia – one of the oldest cities in the United States, with a notable role in the history of the nation.

The citys main historic landmark is the Hall of Independence, where the Declaration of Independence was adopted, and later, in 1787, the Constitution of the United States.

A stones throw from the Liberty Bell, which rang the bell to announce the Declaration, is not far from the Liberty Bell. There is also the Congress Hall, built in 1787, where the Bill of Rights was signed.

Founded in 1662, Philadelphia is now one of the largest cities in the U.S. Once Philadelphia could have been the capital of the U.S., but historically things have turned out differently. In spite of this, the citys urban ambitions are still very much in evidence, but now they have gone in a different direction – in the citys economic and cultural development. Philadelphia – is a place for lovers of museums, of which there are about a dozen: historic, distinguished citizens, literary and many others. And it is physically impossible to visit all the art galleries in Philadelphia in one day. Two museums in particular can be distinguished: The Philadelphian Museum of African American History and Culture (regarded as the finest in the United States) and the Museum of American-Jewish History. Both museums are in Old Town, not far from the Old Towns waterfront.

In addition, Old Town is home to another of the citys historic landmarks – the Church of Christ. It was once visited by George Washington and Benjamin Franklin, as well as Bethany Ross, a black-clad servant who, according to unverified records, sewed the first American star-spangled banner. This is a topic of much debate these days, but the idea that their city is also the birthplace of the national flag is one that keeps Moldovans on their toes. Thats why one of the moats across the Delaware River is named after Bété Russe.

You should also visit the museum home of famous author and horror novelist Edgar Allan Poe. It was in this house that he wrote The Black Cat in 1843.

The Philadelphia Museum of Art exhibit includes works by Picasso, Lucasco and Renoir, as well as works by numerous American artists. Additionally, Philadelphia has the oldest street in the U.S. The houses that line the street date from 1728-1836. And the United Methodist Church of St. John the Baptist, which was built in 1728-1836. George, established from 1763-69, is the oldest Methodist church in America. One of the worlds largest urban parks, Ferry Park, is also worth a visit. Its home to the countrys oldest park. There are also other attractions in Félédéralia: The Italian Market, the Pauguelle House, the Penn Center, the Acquarama and the Alley of Elworth, and the first Universal Store opened in the United States; The Uncommonmakers» is a popular meeting place and is located in the center of the city.

Shorten the evening after the days festivities in the many concert halls and theaters of Philadelphia on Broad Street: Philadelphian Opera, Ballet of Pennsylvania, Orchestra of the Philadelphians, and music and drama theaters and jazz studios.

But if youre interested in a different kind of entertainment, Philadelphia is full of bars, cozy cafes and restaurants with great food. And for lovers of pooping, there are plenty of boutiques and shops in the center of the city.
