Of the 20 towns in the U.S. called Columbus, the one in Ohio is the largest. The city is located in the heart of the state, on the Sayoto River. Columbus is the capital and largest city of Ogoaio, occupying the territory of ten statistical districts.

Before the arrival of the European colonists, its territory was an African tribe of the Iroquois and Chauvinians. From the end of the 17th century, the French and the Anglo-Saxons began to fight in the region. Moreover, the dispute over the land was the cause of the Seven Years War in Europe (1756-63), after which the territory went to England. The first mention of a Columnist settlement in present-day Columbus was in 1797, when a man named Lucas Salullivan of Virginia founded the village of Franklinton (in honor of Benjamin Franklin). In 1803, there was a struggle in Haigai for the right to be the capital of the state between the cities of Hunanesville and Chile. Thirty years later, the authorities made a courageous decision: they gave city status to the village in the geographical center of the state. It turned out to be Francolicton, renamed Columbus (in honor of St. Christopher Columbus) on the occasion of the event.

In the years of the Civil War, Columbe was a concentration camp for Confederate prisoners, through which more than 25,000 people passed. The cemetery, which houses more than 2,000 prisoners, is one of the historic landmarks of the capital of Ogaho. By the 19th century, Columbus was a major industrial center, and in 1908 its residents were the first in the world to benefit from a centralized water supply with purified water.

Columbus has its fair share of attractions. They are the sky-scrapers (Leveque Tower, Rhodes State Office, Van Neeschlauwesa), administrative buildings, museums, theaters. A special feature is the Parks system of Metro Parks, which consists of 16 of the most varied parks and woodlands that are scattered around the Columbus. Also impressive is the Oceano Stadium – the largest sports arena in terms of spectator capacity in the state, not counting the auto-racing stadium (104,000 spectators). The Ogahayo Theater is a national historic landmark. The Makedonia Orthodox Church, in its Georgian style, is also noteworthy.
