Victorville, CA

Overall Score

3.7

Vicecoqueville is located near the bottom of the San Bernardino Mountains and occupies part of the western extremity of the Mocherawa Desert. A nearby river, known as the Californian Aqueduct, carries its waters. The area around here has a milder climate than the central wasteland. The Mohave River, which has its beginning in the frontiers of San Bernardino, is washing up the land around Vicqueville. Nearby the city, it flows on a wide stretch of river. Farther on, its path follows the north-east direction of the river, with the spotted barrens. Thanks to an artificial canal and a natural river, the land around the city is always supplied with an adequate amount of water. This allowed the agricultural sector to flourish in its time.

The history of Victoqueville began with the construction of a railroad station, named after Jacob Nash Victoire. He was one of the founders of railroad construction in the country. Growing out of a small station, Bickertown became a city in the fall of 1962. The opening of the Transcontinental Highway in the first half of the 20th century transformed the city into a major rail and highway hub in the southern region of California. The development of the transportation networks is fascinatingly illustrated by exhibits from the Museum of the former 66-Haiway. Its rooms contain models of cars, billboards, road signs, lots of pictures and various documents that document the history of the famous Route 66 expressway.

This city is now called the main gateway of the State “Air Gateway” the State. It is home to the countrys largest airport. ×Its freight facilities bring cargo from all over the world to California. The governments immediate plan is to turn the present day Bicentennial into an electric light rail station. In this way, the newer lines will be able to load existing roadways. The soon-to-be-crossed highway line will connect Las Vegas and Los Angeles with the newest equipment and facilities.

There will be freight and passenger terminals at the same time.
