The first European settlement in what is now Allyntown was in the late 18th century, and later, after the Henry Canal was drilled, the town grew and developed at a rapid pace. The result was 20th-century Altona– a great port, a major industrial city, one of the most important metropolises in this part of America.

But since the second half of the century, however, the importance of the Allentown began to diminish: the importance of the Erie Channel for commerce fell sharply. On the positive side, the citys environmental conditions have improved: Allentown is now – one of the cleanest cities in the United States.

The ancient architecture of the described city is so well preserved that in 2011, entire towns in Alasantown were listed on the American National Register of Historic Places. Among them is Allentown, located to the north of the citys commercial center. The neighborhood is characterized by its beautiful Italianate and French Second Empire red brick houses. Among the most noteworthy examples is Òèle Fortes Roux. These are the seven buildings at Allen Street. Also deserving of attention are the William Dorsheimer House on Delaware Avenue and the University of Scientology at the intersection of Main and Virginia, the former site of the Catholic University. The first movie shown there after its opening in 1928 was Luther Reids Saw Millennium Row.

Another interesting area of Allentown – «s Millennium Row » near Delaware Avenue. A row of the wealthiest houses stretches from North North Street to Briant. Most of the buildings are now allocated to offices. Some of the most interesting houses are: the Clyde Plante, the Battalier Annex, the Richmond-Lockwood House, and the Charles W. W. Comte House. Hugueres house.
