Bakersfield, CA

Overall Score

3.7

The town of Bakerfield lies in Kearney County, located in the south of the Californian region, and has vast tracts of agricultural land. It also produces oil, hydrocarbons, and natural gas. The city performs administrative and managerial functions for the county. It covers the Kernin River in the central part of the county and the south end of the San Joaquin Valley. Despite its status as an administrative center, the city has retained the atmosphere of a small, provincial village. The local people are friendly and warm.

The climate of Beachersfield is barren, making the seasons hot and long, and the winters cool and rainy. The first Europeans came here in 1851 with the goal of finding gold. The founder of the settlement was Colonel Thomas Baker, the owner of the Plantation of the Lumineers. He settled on the land and was the first inhabitant of the future settlement. In 1990, Beachersfield was named Best City &quot. It is the smallest hometown to Robert Clark Young and Korn leader Johnathan Davis.
