In Scotts County lies the city of Davenport. In the late 19th century, it was known throughout America for its numerous entertainment establishments. Bars, dance halls, and music halls were mostly located in the Bactown area. The opera houses were mostly there before the city began to improve. They were often performed by artists from Chicago. The most famous opera house of that time is still in its former position. In 1916, there was a symphony orchestra, which quickly became popular. Nine years later, the countrys first art gallery opened.

Modern Davenport, along with three neighboring cities, is part of the Quad Cities region. It has a river port and a port within its boundaries, as well as companies specializing in food processing, black metalworking, and machinery. The city was founded by Anthony LeClaire, but named in honor of his friend John Davenport. There are 27 parks within the city limits, including the Botanical Gardens. Each of them is equipped with bike paths. The Navy Yard is known for its music and sports festivals.
