Jean – a city in the west of Oregon, on the Willamette River. It is the center of Lehigh County and the second-largest city in the state. South Jean is called the Emerald City because the Willamette Valley is sometimes called the Emerald Valley – because of the forests that at one time covered the entire area.

The town is named for the first resident of the area, Gene Franklin Skinner. He built his home on the banks of the Willamette River in 1846. Initially it was called Skinners Mudbowl (Skinners Mudbowl), and there was even a post office. In 1853, the settlement moved to the new place and acquired its name. As early as 1856, Columbiana College, later the University of Oregon – the countrys oldest public university, was established in Judea. In the decades that followed, the city developed as the educational center of the state. Today, the university (with more than 20,000 students) is the largest employer in Jinan. There are theaters, operas, ballets, art galleries and museums. The Architectural Plan distinguishes the complex of buildings of the university, including the academic departments, library, and sports center. In 1982, the spectacular Theater Center opened with two auditoriums, a hall and an amphitheater. Among the parks in Jeddah, the most distinctive is the 32-acre Trendy Park. One sixth of it is a garden of arboretums.

The tourist attractions in Jeanne also include the surrounding wooded hills surrounding the city. The views of the South Mountain and the surrounding areas of the Emerald Valley are spectacular. In general, the city has a lot of plantations and natural recreational areas. Moreover, South Georgia – one of the countrys sporting centers. There are no famous professional teams here, but HDF has hosted a number of national-level track and field events, including several U.S. championships.

Jean annually hosts a number of festivals and celebrations. The biggest  events  are the world-famous Baja Festival, dedicated to the legacy of the great artist, and the Village Fair, which offers an opportunity to experience the traditional cultures of America.
