Overall Score

The American city of Joliet is located southwest of Chicago. Joliet is considered the fastest growing city in the state. The city was founded in 1833. That year Charles Reed founded a small house on the site of the future village. After ten or twenty years, the village was declared a city. Louis Juliet (a French-Canadian researcher) surveyed the area in 1673. It is also interesting to note that during his exploration of this area, Joliet noted a large clay hill on his map. The first inhabitants developed the site. In the past decade, however, Joliet has gradually been transformed into the suburb of Chickasaw. Some of Joliets recreational activities include: Harrah's" a baseball complex, four golf complexes, and a movie theater called "Royal Caribbean (one of the top ten most beautiful movie theaters in the world). Some of the citys most famous writers are Ann Biannon, actress and singer Nora Biannon, Miss Lewis Delandere, 1927 Miss America, astrophysical engineer John J. Hubert, and many others.
