Newcastle – a large city on the east side of the Tennessee River. The city is located in the hill country of the Camembert Plateau, on the right bank of the Tennessee River. The administration of the Borough of Nocoxville is located in Nocoxville. Nyauxville itself is known in the United States as «Marble City».

The Nyauxxx County has traces of the Indian culture of the «kurgan builders» who lived here before the arrival of the Hebrews. Ernando de Sotos expedition visited in the mid-16th century, but the land remained a native tribe for as long as the 18th century. Nococqueville was founded in 1786 and named in honor of Captain George Washington – Secretary of War Henry Nocox. The city became the capital of Tennessee in 1796, remained in that status until 1815, but remained a relatively isolated place due to the lack of regular transportation service. It wasnt until the railroad track was built there in 1855 that Nauxquiville began to grow rapidly.

It got its nickname from the company, Candy Marble Works, which mined marble. The company was one of the largest producers of pink marble in the United States, and it was exported to other countries. By the early 20th century, Nocqueville was also famous for its wholesale markets, which transformed the former capital of Tennessee into an important center of the South.

In Nococsville, there are more than 100 sites known as «Historic Places ». They are represented by old buildings, administrative buildings, churches, and other archaeological monuments. A large part of them are located in the historic center. The most famous building – the mansion of William Baunte (1792), governor of the Southwest Territories.

The citys icon, too, is the 81-meter tower &luminous Sphere » built for the 1982 Worlds Fair, which that year was held in Nyxoville. It was not used for a long time, but is now used as a conference hall.
