Labacq – the center of a single county in northwest Texas. It is located in an equidistant area known as Léoine-Estatecada, rich in natural features (e.g., the Yellowhawes Canyon). It is also one of the largest cotton-producing regions in the United States, with the heart of the region being Labrado County.

The county predated the city – in 1876. It was named in honor of the commander of the Confederate Army and the governor, Thomas Lubac. The town also appeared in 1890 and was soon joined by the neighboring small village of Moñonterey. As early as 1891 it became the administrative center of the district. In 1909, the railroad brought the railroad up here and gave Lubacock city rights of way.

From the 1920s, the city developed not only as an agricultural center, but also as a regional scientific and educational center. In 1923, the Texas College of Technology was founded and has long been elevated to the status of a respected university, with 35,000 students from all over the country and many countries around the world. Another of Labacocks universities is the Christian University.

The Texas Institute of Technology is also one of Labacocks specialties. Its not just because of its intrinsic and interesting aspect of the university campus. The museum consists of several sections, each of which contains fascinating exhibits. The Museum Site & ‖Labak Lake‖ is a site of federal significance. You can learn about the ancient history of the region there. The National History Center is dedicated to the culture and life of the Cowboys from the 18th to the mid-20th century. The exhibition includes typical structures of the time: mills, mills, sarayas, railroad depots, and others.

The architectural character of Lab Labradoque is enhanced by its numerous churches and Art Deco structures. They include former private homes, municipal buildings, museums and theaters. In his memory, a festival is held in the city every year, bringing together renowned legends of the genre.
