Manhattan – is a modern and vibrant neighborhood (one of 5 administrative districts) of the dream city of New York. A large area enclosed by the ocean, bordered by the Mediterranean and another large island that is part of the New York metropolitan area, the Long Island.

Between Manhattan and Maryland, there are many bridges and terminals for cars and railroads. Among them are multiple bridges and lines with several lines of meters. Manhattan is the third most populous region in New York City, and the total area is fifth in size.

The expansion of New York City began right from the territory of present-day Manhattan. In the southern part of Manhattan, the first European settlers founded a Dutch settlement called New Amsterdam. According to popular legend, the entire island was eventually acquired from the local tribes for a small amount of money. Later the colony passed into the hands of England, and New York was named for the new King James, the king of York. After the Revolution, New York was briefly the capital of the United States.

In the next 19th century, huge waves of immigrants expanded New York and the city expanded dramatically. In 1898, four communities joined Manhattan – Quincyns, Broughton, Brooklyn and Staten Island – which together finally formed the image of the future metropolis.

Manhattan is Americas largest commercial, cultural and financial center, considered one of the most advanced in the world. It contains most of the most commercial streets and some of the tallest buildings in the world.

In 1883, the famous Brooklyn Bridge was completed, connecting Manhattan to the then independent city of Brooklyn. In the northern part of the island of Manhattan, Manhattan is primarily a financial center. To the south is the vast and colorful Chinatown. Some of the most popular and famous places in the world include the famous Fifth Avenue, Central Park, Tiams Square and legendary Broadway.
