The American city of Moldova is part of the state of California. The municipality belongs to the American district of St. Stanislaus and is its administrative center. The city, originally a station on the railroad that connects Sacramento and Los Angeles, was founded in 1870. The city was supposed to be named for William William Johnson, but he was too modest and asked for another name for the city. It was in honor of William W. Johnsons modesty that the city got its name.

It became a city in 1884 with a population of over a thousand people. With its grain fields, a lying river, and railroad service, the city was growing. A little later, floodwaters were installed in the frontier areas. The fields of vegetables and fruit or nut trees were growing. During World War II, todays Motherland provided the United States and the allied forces with canned goods, dry milk and eggs. Major employers in the city include: E & J Gallo Winery, Memorial Medical Center and Modesto City Schools.

The city has a number of attractions, so it will be a great destination for travelers. One such attraction is the Mac McEach Henry. It was built by local banker Robert Mack Henry in the 1880s, and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Tourists should also make sure to visit the Mack Henry Museum, located just across the road from the mansion. The citys theater is another landmark. The theater was built in the 1920s. It has recently been renovated and serves as a local performing arts venue. This theater specializes in independent and foreign films. Theres also another feature in Moldova – John Thurmans field, renovated several years ago, is the base of the Miami Nationals baseball team. Also worth visiting is the Gallolo Art Center, an art center opened in 2007. Its choice cities are Finlands Wernon, Indias Vijayawada, Japans Kouroumé and Ukraines Khmelnitsky.
