The town of Oceanside is located in the county of San Diego and is considered one of its largest villages. Not far from the outskirts is the Marine Corps of one of the U.S. military bases. The landscaping of the citys beach was in its 20th century. After the Marine Corps base was established in the area of Oceanside, the city was a home for its personnel. The city was the site of the World War II war makers of ammunition.
In the 1970s, construction began on the citys outskirts. Over time, cottage villages and recreation areas began to appear. A notable landmark is the wooden pier in Oceanside, built in 1888. The Mission of San Luis de France, founded in the 18th century, is now the seat of one of the representations of Spain in California.
