Odessa is located in the western part of the state and is the administrative center of the county of Ecuador. Its economy is based on oil production and refining. The town owes its name to the new inhabitants of Odessa, for whom it was named after a new common house. The city, together with its neighboring city of Milan, is forming a large corporation. It is crisscrossed by road lines, so that Odessa is also known as a major transportation hub. Its history began with a small railway station, which was built there in 1881. It first served as a shipping station. Four years later, the post office was next door to it, and the first residential buildings of the future village were near it. In addition to raising cattle, they also raised wheat and cotton. Salt was extracted in the vicinity of Lake Huán Córdón.

The discovery of the oil field not far from the city of Los Angeles changed the economic direction of the area. The development of the field required a lot of labor, and as a result, it attracted a wave of new immigrants. In a few years, the number of people living here has grown by dozens of times. Remarkably, the little papyrus is considered the symbol of Odessa. Back in 1932, the local family of cattlemen used to dagger the crows for fun. It is known that a girl named Grace was able to solve a difficult problem in only five seconds. In that time, she was able to lock up a cricket that the other participants could not match. In 1977, the breeding facility was closed due to a request by animal advocates. Fifty years later, the city has installed the largest pony statue to commemorate those events.

The city is known for its famous citizens. For example, American comedians Stefani Weir and Jim Boulalock were from Odessa. At one time, 41 President of the United States, George Bush, lived here. The city is also known for a world-famous ice cream factory and sausage factories that use old recipes to make their products. The natural characteristics of the artifact, which fell about 20,000 years ago, according to the scientists, are natural.
