Palm Bay, FL

Overall Score

3.6

The city of Paul Bay  east coast of the State of Florida is part of the County of Brevard and is on the halfway point between Jacksonville and Miami.

In the second half of the 19th century, the first European settlers came here and started building houses in the area. In the 1920s, the town got its present name, which is derived from the hut, bordered by pallmas. These pamphlets are depicted on the citys shoreline and are remarkable for their ability to grow at the waters edge, even when washed by the sea water when the tide is low. From 1922 onward, a network of over 60 canals was established to drain the wetlands, preventing flooding and allowing the use of marginal land for farming.

Palma Bay developed rapidly in the second half of the twentieth century. There is a small Wildlife Turkey Creek Sanctuary in the northeastern part of the city. Here you can see rare species of animals and plants.

The climate here is humid, with frequent heavy rains and thunderstorms in the summer and mild winters.

The city has many activities. They include nature-based recreation, fishing, boating, and water-skiing.  You can rent a small boat, enjoy fishing and catch both freshwater and saltwater fish. Every year there is a festival of surfing. Local shops buy or rent a surfboard.

Palm Bay offers many opportunities to play and relax, with many parks and facilities. You can enjoy outdoor sports, golf, tennis, cycling or hiking trails. The Palm Bay is highly regarded for its easy-to-follow trails for bicycle crossing and kayaking.

Palm Bay, with its 72 miles of beaches and unique nature, will appeal to everyone who loves coastal recreation, allowing them to enjoy seaside sports or just relax on the beach.
