Seylem – the city of Oregon. The city lies in the north-northeast part of the state, in the valley of the Willamette River. The Seychelles is spread out over the rolling hills of the Waukanic area of Polk and Maryon Counties. The city is the center of agricultural processing.

Before the arrival of the «white» these lands were inhabited by Chimichic Indians. In 1840, the Methodist church members came here. Their mission was called either Chimikity or Melnitsa (because of the Melnyuchy Brook). In 1842, the Methodists founded the Institute (which was also the name of the place), which operated for two years. After it was disbanded, local residents began to build a city on the property. However, the origin of the name Seylem (& laquo;world» in Hebrew and Arabic) – is unknown. In 1851 the city was chosen as the capital of Oregon.

Sejm, despite its status as a capital city, has a very civilized life. There are no skyscrapers, no big factories, no big companies. There are also no significant landmarks in Seychelles. However, there are some beautiful alleys, parks and quarks, golf courses, examples of old buildings, several churches and prominent administrative buildings, as well as sports fields.
