The northernmost city in the State and its capital, Salt Lake City, is located on the eastern and southern shores of the Great Salt Lake. The city is not only the regions leading economic and cultural center, but also the worlds capital of Freamon. This is where their headquarters and the main temple are located. Salt Lake City is also a popular center for winter tourism. In 2002, the city hosted the Õ²Õ Winter Olympics.

The areas of the Great Salt Lake – the ancient lands of the Indian tribes of the Paiotas, Shoshone and Jutta. In 1847 the first white settlers came here – a group of Mormons led by their spiritual leader, Brigham Young. According to the report, the Mongolians scoured the Wild West in search of a suitable place to live unharmed. When they came to the valley of the Great Salt Lake, Yang exclaimed, This is the place!

It began as a transit point for pioneers and convoys going to California. Later the mining industry began to develop here. In 1896, Salt Lake City was established as the capital of the Utah. Today, it is a blooming city in the middle of the sprawling countryside of the lake and surrounding mountains.

The most important square in Salt Lake City is called Temple Square. It is the historic center of the city, where the citys main attractions are located. At the center is the main church of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Days (1847), which is restricted to the general public. Its where the name of the square comes from. Nearby is the nearby Mormon Concert Hall (1867), where the Mormon Conferences were held in 2000 and where the Mormon Concert Hall still regularly performs. Nearby is the Family History Library, honored by the U.S. Library Association with several awards, and a memorial to Brigham Young. Its worth highlighting the Museum-Museum «Thats the Place!» which depicts the history of the founding of Salt Lake City and recreates the first settlers homes.

The attractions of South Lake City also include the Botanical Gardens, the Liberty Park Community Park, and many Olympic facilities. In addition, the Osotatchet Mountains are home to the world-class winter and ski resorts of Alta, Snowbird, and Solitude. Salt Lake City has been the site of popular Hollywood films, including Quiet Pirates of the Caribbean: At the Edge of the World, Independence Day, The Weary and the Weary, and others.
