The modern city is known for the fortress of Alalmo, located on its territory. The historic structure is considered a symbol of the liberation and independence of Texas.

About three million tourists visit the city of San Antonio every year. The most popular destination for its inhabitants and visitors is the waterfront area of the San Antonio River. Among the attractions are the Crescent of Alalmo, the Observation Tower of the Poluchare, the Museum and Exhibition of La Villelette, and the Tower of Life. San Antonio is known as the center of Tejano culture, which is one of the main trends in street music and is particularly popular in the South of the United States. The citys history dates back to 1691. At that time, Spanish explorers of new lands arrived in what is now the city. They named the future city after St. Anthony. The year of its founding is 1718. The territory of the city and its surroundings is characterized by variable weather patterns. Depending on the prevailing winds, it can be hot or cold. It is usually hot and dry in the city in the summer, and wet and warm in the spring and fall. The coldest month is January.
