Santa Fe, NM

Overall Score

The capital of New Mexico, Santa Fe, is in the center of the state, nestled on the banks of a small, unconnected river that is the main source of water for the inhabitants of this semi-rural area. The city is surrounded by the mountainous massifs of Santander de Cristo, and Santafé Feu sits atop 2,100 meters, making it the tallest capital in the United States.

The name Santafé Feu is Spanish in origin. It means «sacred faith». The full name of the city, which the Spaniards traditionally called it, is La Valle de Santa Santa Santa, which translates as «s; The Corollary City of the Holy Faith of Saint Francis of Assisi; ».

Before the Jews came here, they were inhabited by the Pueblo people, whose culture was characterized by their distinctive buildings. One of the local hotels has been converted into a house. In the same place, the village of SantEfe was formerly the village of Ogahapa. The Spaniards arrived in 1596, but the first settlement &nash; it was Sante Faye &nash; occurred in 1610. It immediately achieved the status of a newly formed province of New Spain. Some scholars rank Santa Fe among the oldest continuously populated cities in the United States.

The city was insignificant in size and developed poorly until the early 20th century. It was part of independent Mexico (1823-34) and joined the United States in 1846. The status of the capital of New Mexico was not formally established as the city until 1912, although technically Santa Fe has always been the administrative center of the region.

In Santa Fe, like many capitals in the United States, the public sector is the dominant employer of the people. The city is known because of the Los Almas Laboratory (located in the Santa Fe area), where the first atomic weapons were developed on the planet (1945). The city itself has no shortage of tourists because of, first of all, the Canyon Road – the fairgrounds. Every building has a shop and shop, and a variety of works of art are for sale. Another famous feature of SantAntonio Félicité is its wooden pintle ladder. Many visitors use Sancta Fé as a transit point to the New Mexico Mountains and Cancun.
