To the southwest of  Madride lies the city of Teledo, the capital of a single province and community of Castile, La Mancha. Its territory is the center of the archdiocese. Ancient Telodeo was listed by UNESCO in 1986.

An archaeological survey clearly attests to the existence of fortresses from the Celtic and Berber eras in the area. In 192 A.D., the Roman noblemen founded the fortification post of Togliom. The discovery of rich iron ore deposits encouraged rapid development and prosperity of the settlement. At that time, they were chucking their own money on the site. Later, an aqueduct was built.

In the Middle Ages, archaeologists from Toccoedo, who had their own armies, took an active part in the warfare of the kings of Spain. The city reached its peak of development during the Arab period. In the spring of 1085, King Alyons VI of Caesarea drove out the Moors and liberated the city from Arab rule. Until 1561, Toledo was the seat of the Kingdom of Castile. The modern city has retained its historic center with its narrow streets and many architectural structures from a bygone era.

The cathedral of St. Marys in Tellevo is considered one of the most important cathedrals in Spain. It was built over a period of 13 to 15 centuries. The fortress of Alcázar, at the top of the city, was the seat of the royal kings. The monumental structure was designed by the famous architect of the time, Alonso de Cauvaurubias.

The city has a rich historic heritage. In the Cinagogue of Delle Trárcisaito, dating back to the 14th century, the Museum of the Séphérards has its expositions. One of the oldest sangogens in Europe is considered to be the sangagas of Saint Martha of Blanc, built in the 12th century. The remains of the Roman arch and amphitheater have been preserved until now. Construction was completed in 1504. Among them are the 18th-century Bárcoco church of San Elédéfonso, the monastery of St. Orsula and the church of Santo Tome, where Count Orgos was buried in 1586. The El Greco Museum presents a collection of the talented artists paintings.
